Blend of very old and rare wines from the last century, aged for a minimum of 50 years, in 300 liter casks. A testament to the unique heritage of old White Ports that Kopke has preserved, in small quantities, in its 381 years of history.

Winemaking and Aging

Fermentation in stainless steel vats with skin maceration and pumping over at controlled temperatures, aimed at producing whites full of color and structure, with enough phenolic compounds to withstand prolonged aging in wood. Fermentation is interrupted by the addition of brandy (benefit), resulting in a fortified wine.

Aging in wood, in 300-litre barrels, for a minimum of 50 years, has concentrated this wine to the point of almost transforming it into an essence, developing intense and complex aromas of spice, dried fruit, yellow stone fruit and light citrus notes. A dense white Port, concentrated and slightly dry on the palate. A surprising wine, with a vibrant yellow color and a broad golden rim, full of rich and velvety flavors that converge in an incredible and delicate aftertaste.

On the palate it is dense, concentrated and slightly dry, full of rich and velvety flavors that converge in a good and delicate finish.

Harmonization

Its aromatic complexity captivates the senses, combining very well with shrimp tempura, sea bass tartare, gratinated scallops or foie-gras. It also expresses all its sophistication when paired with not-too-sweet desserts such as almond tart, apple crumble or blue cheese.

SERVING TEMPERATURE / 8° to 10°C

The wine must be stored in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations and the bottle must remain in an upright position. As a natural product, Port Wine is subject to deposits with age. Once the bottle is opened, consumption within 2 to 6 months is recommended.
