Terroir
Located near Pinhão, on the right bank of the Douro, and with a spectacular view over the river, Quinta da Boavista is one of the most iconic properties in the demarcated region, known not only for its historical connection to the Baron of Forrester, but also for its its 36 hectares of high quality vineyards. This is the property’s first white wine, produced with the Arinto and Viosinho grape varieties. It is a wine in which delicacy and complexity materialize in a unique and harmonious matrix.

The Levante vineyard is located at one of the highest levels of Quinta da Boavista. Facing East, this vineyard receives the first rays of sunlight in the morning and is protected from the last of the day, providing a balanced maturation of the grapes.
Planted on terraces, in 2007, the Arinto and Viosinho varieties manage, in this vineyard, to express their best characteristics, which are reflected in this unique wine
Winemaking
2020 provided us with very balanced ripening and perfectly healthy grapes, which facilitated the vinification of the first white grapes at Quinta da Boavista.
The Viosinho harvest took place in the third week of August and we started the Arinto harvest 3 days later. The grapes were all picked by hand, into small 17kg boxes and transported to the cellar, where they remained in the cold room until the next morning.
The Viosinho was selected on a mat of choice, destemmed and pressed. Its fermentation took place in new and used French oak barrels.
Arinto was also selected on a mat of choice, gently destemmed and remained in pellicular maceration for 24 hours before being pressed.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel until almost the end, when it was transferred to new and used barrels where fermentation ended. Both wines aged in barrels. In November of the year following its harvest, the final batch was made, the first batch of white wine from Quinta da Boavista.
Bottled in March 2022, it waited a year in bottle before being presented.
The citric and crystalline color catches our eye in the first turns in the glass. Clear and unctuous, it timidly releases white fruit notes embedded in a matrix of fresh herbs that rise gracefully.
In the mouth, it asserts a genuine freshness and breadth that stings the palate with each sip, making each moment a new delight for the senses. Elegant and strong, it is a wine full of soul.
Ideal to accompany: Fatty fish, Seafood and Cheese.
